Background

Bill retired as an engineer / manager in the semiconductor industry after 33 years to join Chucks Awards.  Amy and Bill raised 4 children in the Portland Metro area.  Amy was a stay-at-home Mom for the most part, but has a background in design, embroidery, and medical records.

History

Chucks Awards started in 1987 by Chuck Lee who had decades of experience in the Trophy business.  He made all types of classic column trophies and plaques personalizing with engraving.   Long time customers still come in and comment on how they enjoyed knowing Chuck.   We have a plaque with a newspaper article about Chuck on the wall behind the showroom desk.  

Chuck retired and sold the business to Susan Biles in 1997.  Susan expanded the business into Glass and Acrylic awards.  She added Laser Engraving and Sandblasting services.  Susan established a reputation for providing excellent service at competitive pricing.

Susan retired and sold the business to Amy & Bill Seymour in January 2018.   The Seymour's have modernized many aspects of the business: New Enterprise Website, Online Billpay, and a modern showroom.  They remodeled the showroom with more lights/ displays and product offerings. They added engraving equipment for faster order response time.  They added sublimation equipment for full digital color plaques, awards, name badges, and Medals.   They added UV printing to print full-color on crystal or acrylic awards.

After 33 years being in downtown Portland, we moved 3 miles south in the John's Landing area one block off Macadam Ave behind Wells Fargo.   Free parking and 2 blocks from the river, it is a great place to be.   We remodeled a vintage building with a new shiny showroom.  Hope you can visit in person.
